Four those mo mints when you really need the hugh man touch on the clothes caption eng.
Captions are critically important. Now, more than ever, people are engaging with video content and remote events, and good captioning can make the difference between a smooth, seamless experience that includes all viewers, and one that goes down in infamy as embarrassing and exclusionary. Auto-captioning has come a long way, but Youtube and Zoom's algorithms only provide about a 65% accuracy rate, and less if the vocabulary of the video is highly specialised—far below the 99% rate required by the ADA.
With a tested process and quick turnaround, Julian is here to help.
"Julian is a thorough and deeply insightful editor with an incredible work ethic. They approach every project with great skill, integrity, and care, and they prioritize making authors (and collaborators!) feel seen and heard. Their clients are lucky to have them."
- Chelle Parker, editor
Audio must be majority in English, with other language content making up no more than 25% of the audio. Julian is fluent in English and French; familiar with Spanish, German, Latin, and Greek; and will make best efforts to check terms in other languages or flag them for review before finalising the file.

Full Captioning and Documentation —
$4 per audio minute if 3-5 participants
$3 per audio minute if 2 or fewer participants
You have: a video uploaded to Youtube, a list of participant names, and an editor sub-account set up for access.
You want: a completely overhauled, corrected and time-sync adjusted caption file, ready to watch, plus a file containing the complete corrected transcribed text.
Julian will edit your auto-captions to a professional standard, including conforming to any standard or in-house style guide (must be supplied). They will ensure all audio is accurately and completely transcribed, attributed to the correct speaker, clearly legible onscreen, and correctly synced to the video. They will provide the corrected transcribed text of the caption file in .doc format. If you would also like a revised version suitable for print that removes filler words and clarifies the content, Julian can provide this at their standard copy editing rates of 2¢ per word, based on the length of the originally transcribed text.
Please note: If previously published text is quoted, for example a story or a paper, you MUST provide the text or a link to the text freely available online.
If there are questions regarding specialised terms or any inaudible segments, Julian will provide a time-stamped list of all queries or issues for resolution, and will make any edits required once the answers have been provided.
*If you have more than 5 participants, please submit an enquiry with the project details.
